Kutztown, Pa. – Following a dominant week in PSAC East play, the Kutztown women's soccer team climbed eight spots to No. 17 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II National Poll, announced Tuesday.

The Golden Bears (5-0-1 overall, 3-0 PSAC East) made a statement with back-to-back 4-0 shutout victories over East Stroudsburg and Mansfield, extending their winning streak to four games and improving to 3-0 in conference play.

Kutztown controlled both games from start to finish, outscoring its opponents 8-0 while limiting them to just three shots on goal combined.

Freshman Carly Louey (Hanover, Pa./South Western) led the team with two goals and an assist Wednesday night at Keystone Field, helping secure a 4-0 victory over East Stroudsburg. Corinne Morgan (Port Republic, N.J./Cedar Creek) added a goal and an assist, while Emma Gonzalez (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) also found the back of the net.

Kutztown carried that momentum into Saturday's road matchup at Mansfield, earning another 4-0 shutout. The Golden Bears overwhelmed the Mountaineers offensively, holding a staggering 44-0 advantage in shots and a 12-0 edge in shots on goal.

Jenna Piltz (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg) led the way against Mansfield with two goals and an assist, while Ava Leatherman (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) and Gonzalez each added a goal. Louey continued to contribute, recording an assist on the opening goal.

Senior goalie Morgan O'Donnell (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) and Louey were also recognized for their performances during the impressive week. Louey was named the PSAC East Athlete of the Week, while O'Donnell earned PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week honors.

Kutztown will look to build on its momentum as the Golden Bears host another East Division game at Keystone Field against Shippensburg, Wednesday, Sept 16, at 7 p.m.
