Graham leads Golden Bears to third at Susquehanna Spring Invitational

HUMMELS WHARF, Pa. -- Brooke Graham (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) placed third among 71 golfers and Kutztown University women's golf tied for third as a team to record its fourth top three finish of the spring at Saturday's Susquehanna Spring Invitational.

Graham collected her third consecutive top five finish --all within the last week-- after getting around the par 70, 5,524-yard Susquehanna Valley Country Club in 9-over par 79. The junior supplied a team-high nine pars and birdied the 338-yard par 4 fourth. Graham shot 3-over 37 on the front nine before shooting 6-over 42 after the turn.

Freshman Eva Moawad (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) and junior Grace Klements (Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Pinelands Regional) continued their strong play this spring by tying for 12th at 19-over 89. Both players registered five pars during their respective rounds. Klements has a runner-up finish and a 12th over her last two tournaments, while Moawad has back-to-back 12th-place finishes.

Behind four pars on the front nine, senior Gabby Cohen (Jeffersonville, N.Y./Sullivan West) tied for 22nd with a 94 (+24) to complete Kutztown's scoring quartet. Livia Andov (Pekanbaru, Indonesia/) also took to the course, Saturday, finishing 33rd with a 98 (+28).

Susquehanna won its home tournament by two shots over Wooster with a 64-over 344 team total. The River Hawks also claimed the medalist in Cailyn Schall, who shot 6-over 76 to top Grove City's Emily Burling by two strokes and Kutztown's Graham by three.

Following Susquehanna and Wooster (346, +66) in the team standings were the Golden Bears and Grove City at 351 (+71). Seton Hill completed the top five with a 359 (+79).

The Golden Bears will host the Kutztown Spring Invitational at Moselem Springs Golf Club tomorrow beginning at 11:30 a.m.
