Golden Bears hold onto fifth place after second round of PSAC Championship

KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- Continued consistent play helped the Kutztown University women's golf team retain fifth place in the team standings after the second round of the PSAC Championship, Thursday.

Brooke Graham (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) was the team's low scorer for the second time in as many days, firing a 12-over par 84 that included a birdie and six pars. Graham moved up two spots in the individual standings to 12th with a two-day total of 167 (+23).

Grace Klements (Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Pinelands Regional) improved upon her first round score by one stroke with a 13-over 85 that included eight pars. The junior from Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J., jumped four spots into the top 20 overall and is now part of a five-way tie for 19th at 171 (+27).

Freshman Eva Moawad (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) also shot 85 and made the largest move up the leaderboard among KU players with a five-spot improvement to 27th. The Harrisburg, Pa., native registered a team-high nine pars on the day. Moawad is sitting at 174 (+30) after 36 holes of competition.

Livia Andov (Pekanbaru, Indonesia/) had six pars and carded an 89 to round out Kutztown's scoring contingent. Andov's two-day total of 176 (+32) ranks 31st in the field of more than 50 players.

Gabby Cohen (Jeffersonville, N.Y./Sullivan West) had the strongest front nine of any Golden Bear with a birdie and five pars to make the turn at 4-over 39. She added just one par on the back nine in finishing with a 91 (+19). She sits 33rd overall at 178 (+34).

West Chester made a move to unseat six-time defending PSAC champion Gannon from its throne with the best team score of the day at 317 (+29). The Golden Rams moved into a first place tie with the Golden Knights, both teams holding a score of 629 (+53) heading into the final 18 holes on Friday.

Kutztown is within striking distance of a top three finish after holding serve, Thursday. The Golden Bears' 687 (+111) is four shots back of third place Bloomsburg (683, +107) and three shots behind fourth place California (684, +108).

Final round action from Berkleigh Golf Club begins at 9 a.m., Friday.
