UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Senior Jensen Kraft (Nutley, N.J./Saint Mary) set a new personal best and the third-fastest mile time in Kutztown University women's indoor track & field history, Saturday, to pace a lighter contingent of competitors at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge hosted by Penn State.
 
Kraft cruised past her former best of 5:26.12 from last season's Bucknell Bison Open & Multi with a 5:02.31 that placed her fourth among 23 runners at Saturday's meet. The Nutley, N.J., native moved within three seconds of Keri Brown's school record time of 4:59.02 while also turning in the third-fastest time in the PSAC this season.
 
Kraft was one of four student-athletes to achieve PSAC qualifying marks or times for KU at the meet.
 
Taylor Funk (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) and Natalie Holland (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) once again cleared the PSAC standard in the pole vault. Funk tied her personal best mark of 3.60m (11-9.75) from the Bucknell Bison Opener back in 2023 to place 10th on Saturday. She ranks tied for sixth all-time on KU's top 10 list.
 
Holland cleared 3.45m (11-3.75) for her new indoor PR.
 
Back on track, Mackey Donovan (Blauvelt, N.Y./Tappan Zee) finished ninth out of 23 runners in the 800m with a PSAC qualifying time of 2:19.29.
 
The Golden Bears will head to the Widener Winter Classic next weekend. Friday's throwing events will be contested on Widener's campus before meet shifts to the University of Pennsylvania's Ott Center on Saturday.
