NEWVILLE, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's swim team notched seven conference qualifying times in the John A. Pidgeon Memorial Invitational and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Last Chance Meet on Saturday, hosted by the Indiana (Pa.) Crimson Hawks at Big Spring High School, where it finished third and second, respectively, out of six competing teams.

The Golden Bears (5-4, 2-3 PSAC) saw second-place finishes from freshman Julia Kopcho (Pemberton, N.J./Camden Catholic), who notched a time of 5:22.67 in the 500 freestyle, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Kopcho, Phoebe Armes (Somerset, UK/Millfield School), Annamarie Rodier (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) and Ana Soto (Hamburg, N.J./Vernon Township), who recorded a time of 3:45.94. The two finishes helped the team to 237 points in the Pidgeon Invitational.

Kutztown saw continued success in the Last Chance Qualifier, where the Golden Bears' A and B teams finished in the top three of both the 11-team 200 freestyle relay (1st – 1:41.37 and 2nd – 1:45.60) and the eight-team 200 medley relay (2nd – 1:54.95 and 3rd – 1:57.17). The Maroon and Gold saw a pair of individuals finish with PSAC qualifying, top three times, with Rodier finishing second in a nine-person 400 individual medley, and Sarah Zeminski (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) finishing third in a 27-person 100-yard butterfly.

The Golden Bears travel to Lock Haven for its final dual meet of the regular season on Saturday, Jan. 24. It will conclude the season in Kings Point, N.Y., where it will compete in the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) Memorial Invite on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m.
