YORK, Pa. – Sarah Zeminski (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) moved atop the program's top 10 list with a school record swim in the 100-yard butterfly during Thursday morning's preliminary heats before coming back to capture the silver medal for Kutztown University women's swimming in the evening session at the PSAC Championships.
 
Zeminski, who ranked second in program history coming into the meet, laid down the fastest prelims time of 44 swimmers with a 56.32, besting her previous fast time of 58.01 and Gracie McKee's 2023 school record of 56.39.
 
The sophomore from West Chester, Pa., nearly matched her new record time in the Championship Final with a 56.36 to finish runner-up to IUP's Gem Crittenden (56.07).
 
Ana Soto (Hamburg, N.J./Vernon Township) also qualified for the Championship Final in the 100 fly by swimming a career-best 57.75 in prelims. The time moved Soto all the way up to third from 10th on KU's top 10 list. The senior had another outstanding effort in the final, placing seventh in 58.04.
 
Annamarie Rodier (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) represented Kutztown in the B Final of the 400 IM, while Julia Kopcho (Pemberton, N.J./Camden Catholic) advanced to the C Final of the 200 freestyle.
 
Rodier set a new personal record in the final with a 4:38.03 to remain second on the program's top 10 list and finish 10th overall. Kopcho won the C Final in 1:56.16, good for 17th place.
 
Both of KU's relay teams turned in strong efforts Thursday evening. The 200 free relay consisting of Soto, Phoebe Armes (Somerset, UK/Millfield School), Kara Damico (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) and Frannie Pease-Wingenter (Goodyear, Ariz./Millennium) finished fifth in 1:36.67, just .06 off their school record from last year's PSAC Championships.
 
Armes, Tatum Rothermel (Halifax, Pa./Halifax), Zeminski and Soto took eighth in the 400 medley relay with a 3:57.23 and moved from eighth to fourth on the program's top 10 in the process.
 
Kutztown remains in the hunt for a top five team finish halfway through the meet. The Golden Bears are sixth with 306 points, 10 back of fifth-place Edinboro. West Chester leads with 634 points, ahead of IUP (524.5) and Clarion (497.5).
 
Preliminary heats of the 500 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke and 200 butterfly are scheduled for Friday morning, beginning at 10 a.m.
