KUTZTOWN, Pa. –
Naia Pulliam (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth) helped bring Kutztown women's basketball to new heights last season and she was recognized with several individual accolades following the season. She added to her list Monday as Pulliam was voted the 2024-25 KU Female Athlete of the Year.
Pulliam made history this past year and etched her name into the program's record books as she guided the Golden Bears to their first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship in their history. She earned a spot on the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Atlantic Region First Team, the first All-Region player for KU since 1999-00. Pulliam also became the first PSAC East Athlete of the Year for Kutztown in 26 years and just the third in program history, also earning First Team All-PSAC honors.
Pulliam enjoyed her best season of her career, playing in all 34 games, starting in 32. She averaged a career-high 17.2 points per game, which ranked third in the PSAC, and hauled in a career-best 5.6 rebounds per game. Pulliam also had highs in assists (69), blocks (26) and steals (36). Her 49.9 shooting percentage from the floor was fourth-best in the conference and she also made a career-high 63 3-pointers.
Pulliam holds the program record for points in a season with 585 and she finished her career with 1,502 career points, third-most at KU. She is the first KU Female Athlete of the Year since 2022 when former teammate, Rylee Derr, received the recognition.
Kutztown finished last season 22-12 overall and qualified for the NCAA Tournament for just the third time in program history.
Presented annually since 1987, the Kutztown University Athletics Female Athlete of the Year award recognizes a Golden Bear for athletic excellence during the course of an academic year. The award is voted upon by athletic department administration, coaches and support staff, and announced each summer.
