COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Freshman Nevin Shaw (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) made his mark in program lore in his first collegiate season for Kutztown men's swimming, setting two new program records Saturday to highlight a 141-121 KU victory over Ursinus at William Elliott Pool in Collegeville.
 
Shaw broke the records in both the 100 and 200 Breaststrokes, winning both events. In the 100, he swam a 59.13, which beat the previous mark of 59.56 by Brad Borek. He also touched the wall in 2:10.96 in the 200, which was almost a full four seconds faster than the previous record, also held by Borek.
 
Other highlights for the Golden Bears included PSAC-Qualifying times from Andrew Pletz (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) in the 500 and 1000 Free, RJ Otten (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) in the 200 Fly, Reilly Jones (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) in the 500 Free and Matheson Bair (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) in both the 50 and 100 Free.
 
Kutztown won eight of the 14 events.
 
Kutztown will now prepare for its annual big meet of the year, the three-day Franklin and Marshall Invitational next weekend, running from Friday-through-Sunday in Lancaster.
