YORK, Pa. -- Kutztown University men's swimming advanced two swimmers to finals and retained seventh-place in the team standings on Friday at the PSAC Championships inside the Graham Aquatic Center.

RJ Otten (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) and Andrew Pletz (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) collected 11th place finishes in the 200-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle, respectively, while the 200 medley relay team placed eighth in the day's lone relay.

Otten set a new personal best and improved upon his third-fastest 200 fly time in school history with a 1:55.25 to place 11th in the finals.

Pletz recorded the 14th-best 500 free time in prelims with a 4:49.00 before picking up more than three seconds in the finals to take 11th in 4:45.93.

In the 200 medley relay, Zach Schurr (Chattanooga, Tenn./McCallie School), Nevin Shaw (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), Otten and Matheson Bair (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) teamed up to post a time of 1:36.36, just one-tenth off the third-best time in school history that they swam back at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational in November.

The Golden Bears hold a four-point edge over Edinboro for seventh in the team standings heading into the final day of competition. Events slated for Saturday include the 1650 free, 100 free, 200 back, 200 breast and 400 free relay.
