KUTZTOWN, Pa. –
Sarah Lazarchak (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) competed in her final regular season match on the Keystone Courts Saturday afternoon as Kutztown women's tennis lost a non-conference match to Mercyhurst 7-0 on senior day.
The Golden Bears (6-8 overall, 3-2 PSAC) still remain above .500 in the conference.
Lazarchak competed at No. 2 doubles and No. 3 singles, falling 6-1 in doubles and 6-2, 6-2 in singles, the closest of the Golden Bears in a singles match.
Bieke Roovers (Leiden, Netherlands/Leonardo College) was her partner in doubles and was slotted in at No. 1 singles.
Emma Semery (Fuveau, France/HDN Academy) was at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles, while
Mallory Barndt (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) and
Caroline Novak (Baldwin, Md./Harford Christian School) teamed up at No. 3 doubles and were No. 4 and No. 5 in singles, respectively.
Kutztown has two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference road matches to conclude the regular season. KU is at West Chester on Monday, April 22, at 2 p.m., and then travels to Lock Haven for match beginning at 3 p.m., on Wednesday, April 24.
