ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Kutztown University wrapped up its first trip to USBC Sectionals since 2019 with an eighth-place finish in the Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) Allen Park Sectional on Sunday afternoon at Thunderbowl Lanes.
The Golden Bears put forth a score of 5,859 over 32 Baker format games after rolling 5,831 in the same amount of games on Saturday for a total score of 11,690. Kutztown moved up one spot in the team standings from ninth at the conclusion of the opening day.

Megan Hanaway (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Township),
Sydney Snyder (Morrisville, Pa./Conwell-Egan Catholic),
Ally Sipe (York, Pa./Central York),
Madison Brenneman (York, Pa./Central York) and
Chloe Sromovski (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./G.A.R. Memorial). The quintet registered 10 200+ games, including a 237 in game 53, which marked its highest of the tournament.
Kutztown compiled a score of 2,985 during its first block of 16 games Sunday and finished with 2,874 over its final 16.
The top four finishing teams in each of the four sectionals move on to the ITC Nationals in Jeffersontown, Ky., April 17-20. Teams advancing out out of the Allen Park Sectional were sectional champion Pikeville (13,383), North Carolina A&T (13,135), Sacred Heart (12,519) and Maryville (12,518).
The Golden Bears are back in action next week at the Northeast Roundup in New Castle, Del. It will be the team's final tournament ahead of the 2024 East Coast Conference Championship, March 22-24.
