Three Golden Bear swimmers set conference qualifying marks against Arcadia

UNION, N.J. – The Kutztown University men's swimming team capped off their Saturday road outing against Arcadia, as a trio of swimmers recorded marks that qualified them for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships later this season.

Matheson Bair (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) set a qualifying time in the 50 and 100 freestyle swims, finishing first over the field of swimmers from both Kutztown (0-6, 0-3 PSAC) and Arcadia (2-2, 1-2 MAC). Teammate RJ Otten's (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) second-place finish in the 200 backstroke gave him a conference qualifying mark on the day as well.

The Golden Bears recorded seven top finishes on the day, including a pair of first-place marks in the 200 freestyle relay (1:34.97) and the 400 medley relay (3:43.73).

The Kutztown men return to friendly waters to open the new year, as they welcome Ursinus to the Keystone Natatorium on Friday, Jan. 17, at 3 p.m.
