BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore
Taylor Funk (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) won the pole vault, Friday, as the Kutztown University women's track & field team kicked off its 2024-25 indoor season with a limited slate of events at the Fast Times Before Finals meet at Lehigh University.
Funk, who joined the program's top 10 lists in both the indoor and outdoor pole vault as a freshman, cleared 3.40m (11'1.75") to top 13 competitors and qualify for the 2025 PSAC Indoor Championships.
Kutztown went on to claim three of the top four spots in the event after freshman
Natalie Holland (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) placed second with a best effort of 3.25m (10'8") and sophomore
Marissa McNamee (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) finished fourth at 3.10m (10'2").
In the weight throw, junior transfer
Kennedy Bulger (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) took ninth in her KU debut with a top throw of 13.34m (43'9.25").
Kutztown will return to Lehigh on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. to conclude the meet with a full slate of events.
