LANCASTER, Pa. – Four Golden Bear swimmers qualified for three different finals as the Kutztown University women's swim team finished competition at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational at the McGinness Pool inside the Kunkel Aquatic Center on Sunday.
The Golden Bears were led by Ana Soto (Hamburg, N.J./Vernon Township) and Sarah Zeminski (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East), who recorded top-15 finishes in the 100 freestyle and 200 butterfly, respectively. Soto finished a second ahead of teammate Kara Damico (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley), who joined the junior in the late night competition. Tatum Rothermel (Halifax, Pa./Halifax) rounded out the finals competitors, as she finished 20th in the 200-yard breaststroke. The three Kutztown leaders all earned spots in the program's top 10 in their events.
Eleven Golden Bears set conference qualifying standards in four different events, enabling them to compete in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships in late February.
The Golden Bears return to the competition in enemy waters as they travel to Kean for a non-conference meet on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 1 p.m.
