LANCASTER, Pa. -- Kutztown University women's swimming enjoyed a successful Friday by setting four program top 10 times and 11 PSAC cut times on the opening day of the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.

During morning preliminary heats, four Golden Bears qualified for finals in their respective events. Annamarie Rodier (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) put forth the 10th-fastest 500-yard freestyle time with a 5:14.50 to make the B Final, before three KU swimmers made the finals in the 50 free. Frannie Pease-Wingenter (Goodyear, Ariz./Millennium) secured a spot in the B Final with the 12th best prelim time of 24.48, ahead of teammates Kara Damico (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) (15th in 24.57) and Ana Soto (Hamburg, N.J./Vernon Township) (17th in 24.63) who made the C Final.

All four finals qualifiers set PSAC qualifying times. They were joined by Birta Smaradottir (Mosfellsbær, Iceland/Commercial College of Iceland) (2:15.69), Phoebe Armes (Somerset, UK/Millfield School) (2:15.87), Sarah Zeminski (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) (2:17.06) and Tatum Rothermel (Halifax, Pa./Halifax) (2:18.15) in the 200 individual medley, and Jena LaTorres (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) (25.59) in the 50 free. Armes time in the 200 IM was good for 10th all-time at KU.

In the finals session, Damico vaulted to fourth on KU's top 10 list in the 50 free with a career-best 24.33 to place fifth in the B Final and 13th overall. Pease-Wingenter took 16th in 24.78 and Soto 19th in 24.64. Pease-Wingenter, who had moved up to fifth on KU's top 10 during prelims with her 24.48, remained sixth on the list following Damico's move up.

Rodier was the top finishing Golden Bear on the night, backing up her preliminary performance with a 10th place showing in the 500 free. The junior cut almost four seconds off her prelim time with a 5:10.77.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Damico, Soto, Armes and Pease-Wingenter etched their names into the program's top 10 list with the fourth-fastest time in school history. A 1:38.46 was good for ninth in the standings on Friday night.

Kutztown returns to the McGinness Pool at the Kunel Aquatic Center on Saturday morning for prelims at 10 a.m. Events taking place on Saturday inclue the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, 800 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay.
