KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- Freshman Sarah Zeminski (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) was victorious in the 200-yard butterfly and the Kutztown University women's swim team racked up nine PSAC cut times as it fell to Montclair State, 172-89, and PSAC foe East Stroudsburg, 171.5-89.5, in its home-opening meet at the Keystone Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.

Zeminski was the Golden Bears' (0-3, 0-2 PSAC) lone winner across 12 individual events and two relays. The West Chester, Pa., native led start-to-finish in the 200 fly, holding off East Stroudsburg's Avery Fohring by three-tenths of a second to win in a PSAC qualifying time of 2:16.95.

Kutztown got three runner-up finishes from distance freestyle standout Annamarie Rodier (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape). The junior started her day with a second-place finish in the 1000 free with a PSAC cut time of 11:05.88, before setting another in a second-place showing in the 500 free (5:22.80). Rodier secured her third PSAC qualifying time during a second-place swim in the 400 individual medley (4:53.66).

The Maroon and Gold took second in the 200 free relay courtesy of Phoebe Armes (Somerset, UK/Millfield School), Ana Soto (Hamburg, N.J./Vernon Township), Frannie Pease-Wingenter (Goodyear, Ariz./Millennium) and Rodier (1:41.65).

Armes registered third-place finishes in the 100 backstroke (1:02.59) and 100 free (PSAC qualifying time of 55.60), while Pease-Wingenter tied for third in the 50 free (PSAC qualifying time of 25.35).

KU's remaining conference qualifying times came from Soto in the 50 free (25.45) and 100 free (55.95), and Birta Smaradottir (Mosfellsbær, Iceland/Commercial College of Iceland) in the 200 breaststroke (2:35.81).

Kutztown is on the road at Bloomsburg for a PSAC double dual with the Huskies and Edinboro next Friday, Nov. 1.
