YORK, Pa. – In what is a tune up for the postseason at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships in February, the Kutztown women's swim team competed in a conference Fall Invitational and Sprint Frenzy Friday at the site of the championship meet, the Graham Aquatic Center in York.
 
Swimming alongside other PSAC members, the Golden Bears finished fifth out of nine teams with 164 points.
 
In her first collegiate invitational, Phoebe Armes (Somerset, UK/Millfield School) earned a PSAC-qualifying time of 2:16.35, touching the wall second in the 200 IM and also earned another cut time in the 100 Free. Annamarie Rodier (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) joined Armes with a cut time of 2:01.65 in the 200 Free, placing fifth. Frannie Pease-Wingenter (Goodyear, Ariz./Millennium) rounded out the PSAC times with one in the 50 Free. The 400 relay team, consisting of Armes, Rodier, Ana Soto (Hamburg, N.J./Vernon Township) and Kara Damico (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) had the other top-five finish on the day, placing third at 3:44.10.
 
Kutztown will next have a tri-meet in the home opener on Saturday, Oct. 26, when it welcomes East Stroudsburg and Montclair State to Keystone Natatorium.
