MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's track & field team battled through weather and sloppy conditions at times on Saturday afternoon at the Millersville Metrics, hosted on the campus of Millersville University.
Two Golden Bears earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks in three field events.
Mia Grassia (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) had a jump of 1.55m (5-1) in the high jump,
Kacie Sienko (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) tallied a best jump of 5.39m (17-8.25) in the long jump and a jump of 10.87m (35-8) in the triple jump to highlight KU competitors.
The wet conditions on the track made it difficult for lower numbers in those events.
At the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Va.,
Jaelyn D'Amelio (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) and
Sophia Knerr (Columbia, N.J./North Warren Regional) finished in the top-six in the 10,000m with PSAC times of 38:58.66 and 39:19.48, respectively.
Kutztown is back in action next weekend for a two-day event at the Lehigh Games in Bethlehem, beginning on Friday, April 7.
