Tucker, Generett, Bryant earn All-PSAC East Second Team honors

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Kutztown University men's basketball seniors Robert Tucker (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) and Kyree Generett (York, Pa./William Penn), along with sophomore guard Jalen Bryant (Edgewood, Md./John Carroll), earned All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division second team honors, as announced by the conference Friday afternoon.

It's the first career all-conference recognition for all three Golden Bears. They are the first men's basketball players to earn All-PSAC since the 2019-20 season. It's also the first time since the 2016-17 season that three or more Golden Bears have earned All-PSAC nods.

Tucker joined KU before last season and found a consistent role in the lineup this season. After only starting one game in 2021-22, the center from Philadelphia played in 24 games this season, earning 23 starts. Tucker averaged just short of a double-double, finishing second on KU with 15.7 points per game and a team-leading 9.2 boards per contest. He is top five in the PSAC in rebounds per game and blocks per game (1.2) and also ranks second in field goal percentage at 60.9%.

Generett is another great story. After only starting 10 games in his first three seasons at KU, the senior guard from York, Pa. started in 25 games this season and set career highs in almost every statistical category. He averaged 15.1 points per game, 4.4 assists per game, and 4.2 rebounds per game. His average assists per game and his total number of assists (120) are both number one in the PSAC, along with his .890 free throw percentage. He concludes his KU career with 909 points, 207 assists, and 195 rebounds.

Despite his youth, Bryant emerged as a leader for KU this season. The sophomore guard led KU in points per game (16.7) and steals (30). He sits top ten in the conference in scoring and second in free throw percentage (.864). Bryant earned a PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week nod after averaging 2.3 steals and 5.7 defensive rebounds in a trio of wins against Goldey-Beacom, East Stroudsburg, and Mansfield in late February.

The Golden Bears concluded the season on a six-game winning streak, falling only one game short of a spot in the PSAC Tournament. Despite that, KU won its most conference games since the 2017-18 season.
