BETHLEHEM, Pa.-- The Kutztown University women's track & field team wrapped up 2023 at the Rauch Fieldhouse, participating in the Lehigh Fast Time Before Finals meet in Bethlehem on Saturday.

For the second time in as many meets to start the season, KU's 4x400m squad won the event. The foursome of Kiana Young (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg), Taniyah Lawler (Chester, Pa./Chester), Jaidah Mitchell (Pemberton, N.J./Pemberton Township), and Raechel Bonner (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) ran 4:03.78 to win. 

Beth Schearer (Springfield, Pa./Springfield), who was a part of the 4x400m team last weekend, had a strong individual showing on Saturday across two events. In the 60m, the Springfield native finished eighth in the prelims with a time of 8.03 to qualify for the finals. Schearer then ran a 7.99 in the finals for fifth place and the joint-ninth-best mark in program history. She then finished second in the 200m with a time of 26.00, the tenth-best mark in program history. 

Kacie Sienko (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) was the only Golden Bear to earn a PSAC mark on the day, jumping 5.35m (17'6.75"), good enough for fifth place. 

The Golden Bears return to action in 2024 at the TCNJ Indoor Invitational at the Armory Track & Field Center on Friday, Jan. 12.
