Seven Golden Bears hit PSAC marks at day one of the Bison Multi & Open

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Seven members of the Kutztown University women's track & field team hit PSAC qualifying marks on day one of the Bison Multi & Open hosted by Bucknell on Friday.

Four of KU's seven PSAC marks came on the track. Raechel Bonner (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) and Kiana Young (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) earned their's in the 200 meters, finishing 11th and 13th respectively. The 5000 meters was littered with Golden Bears towards the top of the standings. Sophia Knerr (Columbia, N.J./North Warren Regional) and Jaelyn D'Amelio (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) finished in the third and fourth spots, both earning the PSAC marks, while Erika Moriarty (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) and Madeline Barney (Oakland, N.J./Indian Hills) finished sixth and ninth respectively.

Similar to the men's team, KU found its greatest success in the pole vault. Myah Davies (New Market, Md./Linganore) finished first in the event, matching her 3.66m jump from last weekend's Gotham Cup, which is the third best mark in KU history. Haylee Edwards (Mohnton, Pa./Twin Valley) had another solid showing following last week, finishing with a 3.36 meter jump. Megan Kearns (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) rounded out KU's PSAC finishers in the pole vault, finishing 10th with a 3.21 meter jump.

Rhianne Markovchick (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) was KU's lone competitor in the pentathlon. She finished seventh with 2353 points, including a second place finish in the shot put.

The Golden Bears wrap up the weekend at the Bison Open & Multi on Saturday. The first women's event will be the long jump at 11 a.m.
