It was the 11th victory of the season, tied for the most in school history, and the 10th win in-a-row for the Maroon and Gold, with their only loss coming on the road at then-No. 15 IUP, 29-26. KU has faced four opponents ranked in the top-20 in Division II so far this year and are 3-1 against those foes, including the win in the PSAC final against No. 10 and defending league champion Slippery Rock.
Â
"I'm really proud of all these guys," PSAC East Coach of the Year and Kutztown head coach
Jim Clements said after the win over the Chargers. "It's awesome to be able to play for the Super Region One title after we didn't make it out of this game back in 2019. The guys worked extremely hard preparing these last two weeks and they played really well today."
Â
Kutztown has the 10th-ranked scoring defense in Division II and first in the PSAC, allowing just 13.3 points per game. The 258 yards per game given up is also 10th in the country and second in the conference. Offensively, the rushing attack ranks second in the PSAC at 191.1 yards per game. KU also ranks seventh in total offense with 368.3 yards per game, scoring 25.2 points per game.
