MARCH 18 | GOLDEN BEAR ATHLETICS ANNOUNCES REVISED SPECTATOR POLICY
Kutztown University will begin allowing spectators at home athletic events in a limited capacity, the university announced Thursday morning, March 18. The revision to the school's no-fan policy, announced Feb. 26, comes following Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf's decision to raise occupancy limits for indoor and outdoor gatherings. Effective Saturday, March 20, a limited number of KU family members and students will be allowed to attend outdoor Golden Bear athletic events. FEBRUARY 26 | GOLDEN BEARS AND PSAC READY FOR RETURN TO COMPETITION; KU ANNOUNCES SPECTATOR POLICY
Kutztown University athletics is primed for a return to competition following a near year-long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The department announced Friday afternoon, Feb. 26, that spectators will not be permitted at home sporting events to start the spring season, placing the health and safety of Golden Bear student-athletes, coaches and staff at the forefront of its decision. Additionally, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) also issued its return to play guidelines, Friday, including alterations to championship formats for a number of spring sports. FALL 2020 UPDATES
NOVEMBER 18 | PSAC ISSUES UPDATE TO 2021 SPORTS SCHEDULES
The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) announced the cancellation of its mandated regular-season and championship competition for winter sports, Wednesday, Nov. 18, following a vote of the league's Board of Directors. Last week, the Board canceled PSAC championship seasons in fall sports, yet allowed for league championship opportunities in those sports should six or more schools elect to participate. All schools electing to play must abide by existing league rules and the NCAA guidelines that have been set due to the existing COVID-19 pandemic. NOVEMBER 11 | KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES 2021 SPRING SEMESTER PLAN FOR GOLDEN BEAR ATHLETICS
Kutztown University announced its decision to opt out of conference-mandated competition for fall and winter sports, and will pursue a conference-mandated spring sports season. The decision comes following the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's (PSAC) announcement canceling mandated regular season and championship competition for fall sports during the 2020-21 academic year. AUGUST 5 | NCAA DII CANCELS 2020 FALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Division II's seven 2020 fall championships are canceled, the Division II Presidents Council decided Wednesday due to the operational, logistical and financial challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. Read the full story

JULY 15 | PSAC SUSPENDS COMPETITION THROUGH DEC. 31
The board of directors of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference voted Tuesday, July 14, to suspend all mandated conference athletic events and championships through the fall semester in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This affects 2020 fall sports and 2020-21 winter sports scheduled to start before Jan. 1. There will be no athletic competitions at Kutztown University until at least January, 2021. SPRING 2020 SEMESTER ANNOUNCEMENTS
MARCH 13 | KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS STATEMENT REGARDING SPRING SPORTS CANCELLATION
"While I'm disappointed for our coaches and student-athletes, who work tirelessly to compete at a high level each day, that they will no longer get to compete this spring, we support the PSAC Board of Directors' decision," said director of athleticsÂ
Greg Bamberger. "This is a global pandemic. The health and safety of our coaches, student-athletes, staff and supporters, is of utmost importance and we are doing what is right to make sure we protect them. In the future, we're hopeful we can work with the NCAA to discuss additional eligibility for our student-athletes, but at this point in time we're committed to keeping everyone safe. I want to thank our senior Golden Bear student-athletes for everything they've contributed to Kutztown University."
MARCH 13 | PSAC CANCELS ATHLETIC COMPETITON THROUGH END OF SPRING 2020 SEMESTER

MARCH 12 | NCAA CANCELS REMAINING WINTER AND SPRING CHAMPIONSHIPS
NCAA President Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors canceled the Division I men's and women's 2020 basketball tournaments, as well as all remaining winter and spring NCAA championships across Divisions I, II and III. This decision is based on the evolving COVID-19 public health threat, our ability to ensure the events do not contribute to spread of the pandemic, and the impracticality of hosting such events at any time during this academic year given ongoing decisions by other entities.
MARCH 12 | EAST COAST CONFERENCE CANCELS WOMEN'S BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIP
Mirroring the NCAA's decision to cancel its winter and spring championships, the East Coast Conference (ECC), of which Kutztown University is an affiliate member for women's bowling, announced that it has canceled its 2020 championship tournament scheduled for March 20-22. Read the full release

MARCH | SPRING SPORTS ELIGIBILITY NOT IMPACTED
The NCAA announced that all spring sports students that were eligible to compete during the spring 2020 semester and had seasons canceled by COVID-19 will be granted another season of eligibility. KU will work with its athletes to ensure those wishing to use that extra season will be supported through the process.
