Golden Bear athletics announces revised spectator policy

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University will begin allowing spectators at home athletic events in a limited capacity, the university announced Thursday morning.

The revision to the school's no-fan policy, announced Feb. 26, comes following Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf's decision to raise occupancy limits for indoor and outdoor gatherings.

Effective Saturday, March 20, a limited number of KU family members and students will be allowed to attend outdoor Golden Bear athletic events. Visiting fans and general spectators are not permitted at this time.

All spectators must wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth at all times, remain with their family or group and adhere to social distancing guidelines while attending KU athletic events. Fans are not permitted to interact with student-athletes, coaches, team personnel, officials, administrators or support staff at any time.

Individuals who are exhibiting any symptoms of illness are asked to avoid campus. Failure to comply may result in ejection from KU athletic facilities.

The health, safety and well-being of Kutztown University student-athletes, coaches and staff, and their opportunity to play remains at the forefront of all decisions regarding spectators.
