PREVIEW: Kutztown Men's Basketball Takes its Talents to the Road at West Chester Saturday

KU Game Notes | Live Stats | Live Video

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's basketball team clinched its sixth straight trip to the postseason in its last game, a 99-77 victory over Bloomsburg, and now it will look to keep the momentum as it travels to take on West Chester University tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 9, at 3 p.m. in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game at Hollinger Field House.

The Golden Bears (13-10 overall, 7-8 PSAC) have won their last two road games, at both Lock Haven (Jan. 30) and at Mansfield (Jan. 16). KU has won three of the last four games at West Chester, but fell in the most recent trip to Hollinger Field House, a 95-89 setback on Dec. 30, 2017. The Golden Rams are undefeated, 10-0, at home this season, the only team in the PSAC to be able to boast that claim.

Kutztown is currently in fifth place in the East Division while West Chester, riding a 12-game win streak, is at the top.

The KU offense ranks second in the PSAC in scoring at 84.4 points per game (ppg) while WCU is fourth at 82.4. KU is shooting 49.6-percent from the floor, second in the PSAC and the best since the 2016-17 season.

Redshirt-senior Anthony Lee (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington) has scored in double-digits each of the last 52 games and is third in Division II at 27.7 ppg. He is fourth in PSAC in three-point percentage (41.8), first in three-pointers made (71) and second in free-throw percentage (88.6). He is second all-time in KU history with 2,107 career points.

Redshirt-sophomore Moe Williams (Townsend, Del./Life Center Academy), who returned to the starting lineup after missing four of the previous five games due to injury, has six double-doubles this season, including a 22-point, 10-rebound effort vs. Bloomsburg last Wednesday. He ranks fourth in the PSAC at 8.9 rebounds per game.

Ricky Hicks (Coatesville, Pa./Polytech) has started 21-of-23 games and ranks ninth in the PSAC with a 1.6 assist-to-turnover ratio. Josh Townsend (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) has scored in double-figures five of the last six games.

Kutztown has a week off between games after Saturday, so it will look to carry some momentum with it along the way.
