#16 KUTZTOWN 47, QUEENS UNIVERSITY OF CHARLOTTE 3

Kutztown picked up bonus points in seven weight classes and led wire-to-wire against the Royals.

A takedown early in overtime lifted Matt Wilde (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area (Ursinus)) to a 13-11 decision over Melvin Rubio in the opening bout at 125 lbs. Christopher Crane (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) followed with a forfeit win, allowing the Golden Bears (8-1) to jump out to a 9-0 lead.

Pins from Austin Scrivani (Layton, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) (149), Connor Rogovich (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) (165) and John Barlow (Upper Chichester, Pa./Chichester) (285) helped widen KU's advantage. Redshirt junior 157-pounder Chad Haegele (Warrington, Pa./Archbishop Wood) blanked Micah Marcin for a 15-0 tech fall two seconds into the second period.

Another Queens forfeit at 174 kept T.C. Warner (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley (Bloomsburg)) undefeated on the season, while No. 1 Jeff Reimel (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) was on his way to another win at 184, before Noah Curreri retired 1:21 into the match.

James Meyer (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) pushed KU over the 40-point mark with a 4-1 decision against Benji Hund at 197.
