MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's tennis team picked up its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) victory 8-1 over Millersville University Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Bears (5-3 overall, 1-2 PSAC) won eight-of-nine matches led by
Martin Munoz (Las Palmas, Spain/Claret (Post)) at No. 1 singles and
Nikolay Kodinov (Plovdiv, Bulgaria/Model High School of Mathematics) and
Gabriel Nogara Souza (Curitiba, Brazil/Dom Bosco) as the No. 1 team in the doubles lineup.
Munoz and Souza each came away with wins in singles and doubles on the day, as did
Nolan Perugini (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) and
Joan Oliver Perez (Andratx, Spain/IES Baltasar Porcel). Perez recorded his first win at doubles this season, teaming with Perugini at No. 2 doubles. Perez, along with Souza and
Josh Carl (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) all made quick work in their singles matches coming away with 6-2, 6-0 wins.
Jason Listmeier (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) also was victorious, teaming with Munoz in doubles action.
Kutztown has a quick turnaround, as it hosts West Chester University on Monday, April 2 at 2 p.m. at Keystone Courts.
