Nikolay Kodinov (Plovdiv, Bulgaria/Model High School of Mathematics) won five games at No. 2, highlighting KU's 9-0 defeat at Mercyhurst University Sunday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match.
The entire Golden Bears singles lineup, including
Nolan Perugini (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township),
Joan Oliver Perez (Andratx, Spain/IES Baltasar Porcel),
Josh Carl (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) and
Gabriel Nogara Souza (Curitiba, Brazil/Dom Bosco), all won multiple games in each flight.
Perugini and Carl, one day after picking up KU's lone victories in the loss at Edinboro, joined together to win three games at No. 2 doubles, the only duo to pick up wins in doubles action.
Kutztown is set to host its first match this spring, when it takes on West Chester University on Wednesday, Mar. 28 at 2 p.m. at Keystone Courts.
