BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's tennis team had three representatives at Saturday's opening day of the 2017 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Individual Championships, hosted by Bloomsburg University.
 
Yasmeen Malik (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) won a game in singles action. She went up against Lacey Cohen from Slippery Rock and dropped a 6-0, 6-1 final.
 
Taylor Capoferri (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) also competed in singles action, dropping straight-sets to Mercyhurst's Adrianna Jeffress.
 
Capoferri and Alicia Pursell (Hamburg, Pa./Hamburg Area) teamed up in doubles action. They faced the third-seeded team from Mercyhurst University and dropped an 8-0 decision.
 
The Golden Bears return to action next weekend, Saturday, Oct. 7, with two home matches. KU will face Indiana University (PA) at 9 a.m. and Seton Hill University at 1 p.m. at the Keystone Courts.
