ERIE, Pa. – Nationally-ranked wrestlers
T.C. Warner (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley (Bloomsburg)) and
Austin Petril (Clifton Heights, Pa./Upper Darby (Ursinus)) were the lone Golden Bears to pick up a victory in the Kutztown University wrestling team's 32-7 loss on the road to Gannon University on Saturday afternoon.
After KU (10-5) dropped the first three matches of the afternoon, No. 6 Warner recorded Kutztown's first victory of the day, picking up an impressive 13-3 major decision at 165 to momentarily make the score 13-4. It was a nice response by Warner, who lost his first match as a Golden Bear on Friday night to the No. 1 ranked wrestler in the NCAA. He improved to 10-1 on the season with the win.
Kutztown's next win would not come until the second-to-last match of the day. No. 11 Petril faced off against Gannon's Abraham Guarriello at 125 and scratched and clawed his way to a 6-5 decision to improve his record to 16-5.

Jeff Reimel (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn),
Christian Jenco (Mahwah, N.J./Bergen Catholic) and No. 10
Ryan Appleby (Belvidere, N.J./Belvidere) all lost decisions on the afternoon, with O'Brien's coming by a narrow 4-3 margin at 141 in opening match.
The Maroon and Gold will get some much needed rest before hitting the road to take on Shippensburg on Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. in its final away dual of the season.
