2017-18: Finished his career with a 55-30 overall record including five pins. The 55 wins ranks 25th in program history for career wins. Went 14-9 his senior season, 8-2 in dual matches. Competed in two matches at the NCAA National Championships, including the eventual national champion (3/10)...Wrestled in six matches at regionals, winning his true-fourth-place match to earn his second-straight trip to nationals. After dropping his first match, he won four of his next five to qualify for nationals with a 4-2 record at regionals (2/24)...Ranked No. 11 in Division II on a six-match winning streak entering regionals (2/16)...2-1 decision in a dual meet vs. ESU (2/2)...Went 3-0 at the KU Duals (1/27)...Moved up to third in the region at 125 following Mercyhurst match (1/18)...Defeated Mercyhurst's Eric Bartos, ranked third in the region, by a 10-4 decision in a dual meet (1/13)...Won a match at the NWCAÂ National Duals (1/4)...Ranked fourth in SR1 heading into the National Duals (1/3)...19-2 tech. fall over LIU Post (12/16)...Won a match and placed sixth at 125 at the PSAC Championships (12/9).
2016-17: Petril won a team-high 23 matches as a junior. He placed fourth at regionals and then became an All-American with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA National Championships at 125 pounds. He posted a 23-9 record, including 13-2 in dual matches. He pinned three opponents and held a team-high seven tech. falls...Became an All-American with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama. He went 3-2 over the weekend, including a win over a regional champion, and the No. 5 and No. 7 125-pounders in the country, and advanced to the national semifinal (3/11)...Recorded a fourth-place finish at the Super Region I Championships and qualified for the National Championships (2/25)...Posted a 2-1 decision in a win over Shippensburg (2/9)...Notched a 6-5 decision against Gannon (2/3)...Recorded a 17-2 technical fall against Ashland (1/28)...4-0 at the KU Duals, including three by tech. fall (1/21)...Up to No. 10 in Division II at 125, leading up to KU Duals (1/20)...Went 2-1 at the Virginia Duals (1/14)...17-5 major decision over Millersville (1/10)...Ranked third in SR1 and 12th in Division II for the first time of his career (1/4)...Finished in fifth place at the PSAC Championships (12/10)...Notched an 8-3 decision in a win over Seton Hill (12/2)...Picked up a tech. fall victory against UPJ (11/17)...Finished in second place in the 125-pound bracket at the ESU Open (11/6).
2015-16: Recorded two major decision wins and four victories by technical fall for the Golden Bears during his sophomore season. He finished sixth and had a 2-3 record at the NCAA Super Region 1 Championships. Petril ranked third on the team with 18 victories...Picked up a victory by way of decision against ESU (2/16)...Notched a 9-7 decision against Millersville (2/10)...Recorded a 3-1 record at the Super Region 2 Duals (1/30)...Tallied a technical fall in a win over Gannon (1/16)...Had a 6-3 decision over Minnesota State-Moorhead's Jared Goldsmith (1/9)...Recorded a 9-4 decision over Liberty's Dell Ngonga (1/9)...Picked up a 5-1 decision over Central Florida's Timothy Sakow (1/8)...5-1 decision over Seton Hill's Collin Dees in a road dual meet (12/19)...Recorded a victory at the PSAC Championships (12/5)...Won three matches at the East Stroudsburg Open (11/15).
