KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The New York Jets have signed undrafted rookie free agent and former Kutztown University running back Terry Williams (West Orange, N.J./Cosby (Phoenix College)). He will wear No. 36.

Williams goes to the Jets after previously earning an invite to the New York Giants' rookie minicamp in May, notably for his 4.42-second 40-yard dash at his pro day in March.

The West Orange, N.J. native was a two-year player and two-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Second Team running back for KU. He averaged a career-high 74.3 rushing yards per game and found the endzone 14 times as a senior in 2015. His 13 rushing touchdowns are fourth-most in KU single-season history in KU history and two ahead of the then-school-record 11 by Jets-star-to-be Bruce Harper in 1976.

On Oct. 24, 2015, Williams set the school-record for the longest run in program history with a 98-yard touchdown run in KU's homecoming victory over East Stroudsburg. It catapulted him to ranking second in the PSAC and 12th in Division II at 6.92 yards-per-carry, the most for a KU back with at least 100 carries since Dontay Wilson's 7.37 average in 2008.

Williams closed his career with 1,501 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns, an average of 71.5 yards per game. He is the 14th player in school history to run for 1,500 career yards and ranks sixth at KU with 22 career rushing touchdowns.
