BEL AIR, Md. – The Kutztown University men's tennis team closed its 2015-16 season on Friday afternoon with a 9-0 loss at the hands of Harford Community College during an indoor matchup.

KU was competitive in both its singles and doubles matches.

Joan Oliver Perez (Andratx, Spain/IES Baltasar Porcel) and Gabriel Nogara Souza (Curitiba, Brazil/Dom Bosco) battled hard out of the No. 1 spot in doubles, eventually falling 9-8.  Filip Lagerqvist (Sundsvall, Sweden/Skvaderns Gymnasieskola) and Rich Lichtenwalner (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) followed them in the No. 2 spot, dropping their matchup 8-5.

In singles, Lagerqvist was the top performer, falling 8-6 out of the No. 3 spot.

The team finished the year 2-15 with a 1-4 record in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).

The Golden Bears returns five of their six starters, looking to take the next step off of this year's experience.  KU has made the PSAC Championships in six of the last seven seasons.   

Lictenwalner and Patricio Hernadez are the team's graduating seniors.
