PHILADELPHIA – The Kutztown University men's tennis team fell 8-1 in its non-conference match at Philadelphia University Monday at the Legacy Youth Tennis Education Center. 
 
Filip Lagerqvist (Sundsvall, Sweden/Skvaderns Gymnasieskola) picked up KU's victory on the afternoon while sporting a cast on his non-racket hand, winning out of the No. 4 singles spot 6-3, 6-3.
 
Rich Lichtenwalner (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and David Nunez Contreras (Madrid, Spain/Mater Immaculata) were the top performers in doubles, dropping a close 8-6 match out of the No. 2 spot.
 
Joan Oliver Perez (Andratx, Spain/IES Baltasar Porcel) and David Nunez Contreras (Madrid, Spain/Mater Immaculata) each won a set in singles, but fell in three games.
 
The Golden Bears return to the court with a road non-conference match against the College of New Jersey on Wednesday, April 27 at 1 p.m.  KU wraps up the season with its finale at Harford Community College on Friday, April 29 at 2:30 p.m.
