KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's tennis team is getting ready to host Bloomfield University for its Senior Day on Wednesday, March 30 at 3 p.m.
For senior
Rich Lichtenwalner (Allentown, Pa./Parkland), it will be the last time in his career that he will get the opportunity to take to Keystone Courts.
Lichtenwalner has had an incredible career, both academically and athletically as a Golden Bear. He competed four years with the team while maintaining a 3.59 grade point average. On the court Lichtenwalner holds a 38-29 record in singles and a 33-39 mark in doubles-play.
Over his KU career, Lichtenwalner was a three-time Dean's List honoree and a three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete. He is a member of KU's honors program and is a two-time recipient of the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award.
This season Lichtenwalner has won five singles matches and four doubles matches with his partner
Filip Lagerqvist (Sundsvall, Sweden/Skvaderns Gymnasieskola). As a team, the Golden Bears have competed in 11 total matches on the year, with three Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchups.
Lichtenwalner will graduate in the spring with a degree in mathematics and secondary education.
The Golden Bears have two remaining matches before the Bloomsburg Duals on Saturday, April 9. KU has a PSAC match against Millersville University on Saturday, April 2, and a non-conference tilt at the College of New Jersey on Monday, April 4.
Kutztown has six matches left before the start of the PSAC Championships on Friday, April 29.
