Box Score KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's tennis team won one singles and one doubles match on Wednesday in the team's home-opener, but fell 7-2 to Caldwell University at the Keystone Courts.
At No. 2 singles,
Gabriel Nogara Souza (Curitiba, Brazil/Dom Bosco) won the first set 7-5 and was leading 2-1 in the second before his opponent retired.
In doubles action at the second flight, the team of
Filip Lagerqvist (Sundsvall, Sweden/Skvaderns Gymnasieskola) and
Rich Lichtenwalner (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) earned a tight 8-6 win to highlight Kutztown's two wins on the day. It's the duo's third win in their last five matches together.
Kutztown returns to action for its second match of a current three-match home-stand on Saturday, March 26 against West Chester University beginning at 1 p.m.
