KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Saturday marked senior day for five Kutztown University women's swimmers. The quintet teamed up to lead the Golden Bears to victory in their final swim at the Keystone Pool with a 108-79 win over Lock Haven University.
 
Prior to the dual meet, Jessica Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern), Caitlin Davies (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata), Rachael Burke (Barnesville, Pa./Mahanoy Area), Ellen Groeneveld (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) and Zoe Sianis (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) were honored during a Senior Day ceremony, where they were greeted with gifts from their teammates.
 
The Golden Bears (4-3) won six of the opening seven events to clinch the dual meet victory, as they surrendered points to Lock Haven (2-3) in the final four events.
 
The day started with a sweep of the top two 200 medley relay spots, as Madi Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern), Bridget Perdoch (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury), Sianis and Burke won the race in 1:58.00.
 
Four of the five seniors won events during the meet. Davies won the 50-free in 25.89 and the 100-free in 56.27. Sianis won the 200-IM in an existing conference cut of 2:18.71, and Jessica Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) won the 100-fly in an existing conference cut of 1:02.05.
 
Gabrielle Louden (Crum Lynne, Pa./Ridley) won the 200-free in 2:08.81, followed by Perdoch and Vicky Ceasar (Coplay, Pa./Whitehall).
 
Madi Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) won the 100-back in an existing conference cut of 1:01.93, as Samantha Scialpi (West Pittston, Pa./Pittston Area) was second in 1:06.32.
 
The Golden Bears compete the next two Saturday's to close their regular season before the conference championships begin on Feb. 19. KU competes against Millersville on the road for a dual meet on Jan. 24, and travels to the East Stroudsburg Invitational on Jan. 31.
