YORK, Pa. – Junior Jessica Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) and senior Zoe Sianis (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) of the Kutztown University women's swimming team competed in the 'B' final of the 200-fly on Saturday evening on the third day of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships hosted at the Graham Aquatic Center.
 
FINALS
The quartet of Elizabeth Metz (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor), Natalie Carr (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area), Samantha Scialpi (West Pittston, Pa./Pittston), and Sianis finished 12th overall in the 800-free relay in 8:10.79 during Saturday evening's finals. Metz's team-best 1:59.29 in the opening leg kick started the KU squad.
 
The Golden Bears ran into some unfortunate luck in the 200-fly finals. Bleiler dropped 1.17 seconds off her preliminary time to finish 13th overall in 2:15.04. Sianis was disqualified for an alternating kick infraction.

Sunday is the final day of championship competition. Kutztown will have representation in four events. Metz will compete in the 1650-free. Bleiler, Sianis, and Caitlin Davies (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) will compete in the 100-free. Carr will take action in the 200-breast, and Kutztown's 400-free relay team will compete. Action begins at 10 a.m.

PRELIMINARIES
Bleiler and Sianis posted similar marks in the 200-fly that advanced them to Saturday night's 'B' finals. Bleiler was 13th overall in 2:13.87, while Sianis posted a career-best mark of 2:14.10 that was good for 15th overall and fifth all-time in Kutztown history.
 
Elizabeth Metz (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor) opened the morning session in the 500-free, an event she ranks fourth all-time in Kutztown history from earlier this season. She finished 23rd overall in the preliminaries in 5:15.86.
 
Senior Natalie Carr (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) took 22nd-place in the 100-breast with a time of 1:09.19.
 
Sophomore Samantha Scialpi (West Pittston, Pa./Pittston) posted a career-best 1:02.90 in a solo 100-back time trial, but just missed the finals cut.
 
The 800-free relay will take place on Saturday night.
