YORK, Pa. – Senior distance swimmer Elizabeth Metz (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor) advanced to Thursday night's finals and finished 18th overall in the 1000-free to highlight the Kutztown University women's swimming team's action at the opening day of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships from Graham Aquatic Center in York.
 
FINALS
Metz posted identical marks in the preliminaries and finals of 1000-free. She finished 18th overall in a season-best 10:40.93, just .07 seconds off her career-best mark that rates third all-time in Kutztown history.
 
Kutztown's 200 medley relay team finished 11th overall in 1:52.09 to close Thursday night's action. Samantha Scialpi (West Pittston, Pa./Pittston) opened the relay with a time of 29.41, was followed by Carr in 31.24, Bleiler in 26.55, and Davies in a team-best 24.89.
 
PRELIMINARIES
In the morning preliminaries, senior Zoe Sianis (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) took 25th place in the 200-IM with a season-best 2:13.48. Fellow senior Natalie Carr (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) also swam the 200-IM, taking 41st place in 2:20.92.
 
Junior Caitlin Davies (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) tied her career-best in the 50-free, finishing 21st in 24.82. Jessica Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) also notched a personal mark in the 50-free, taking 26th place in a season-best 24.97
 
Metz was 10th overall in Thursday's morning's preliminaries of the 1000-free, finishing in her same mark as in the finals (10:40.93).

On Friday, Davies and Metz will compete in the 200-free, and Bleiler and Sianis will compete in the 100-fly. Kutztown's 200 free relay and 400 medley relay teams will also be in action.
