EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's swimming team featured seniors winning multiple events, and freshmen swimming their way into the KU record book as the team competed in a tri-meet with Misericordia at the meet host, East Stroudsburg.
 
The Golden Bears (2-1) split the two meet decisions. It came away with a 175-86 win over Misericordia and fell to East Stroudsburg 153-108.
 
Senior Caitlin Davies (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) nearly swept her three individual races. After just being touched out in the 200-free, she bounced back 20 minutes later to win the 50-free in a new Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)-cut of 25.42. 15 minutes after her victory, she won the 100-free in a season-best mark of 55.50 seconds, an existing PSAC cut.
 
Fellow seniors Zoe Sianis (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) and Jessica Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) also won events. A butterfly swimmer, Sianis won the 200-fly in a new PSAC time of 2:17.45. She also posted a new PSAC mark in the 100-fly (1:02.18) and an existing cut in the 200-IM (2:16.57), both coming in second place finishes. Bleiler won the 500-free and posted a new PSAC qualifying mark in the 200-fly (2:20.18) in a third place finish.
 
The younger of the two Bleiler sisters may have had the best afternoon of any of the Golden Bears. Freshman Madi Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) has begun to make her mark on the program by swimming her way into the record books in multiple events. She won the 100-back in 1:01.52, good for fifth all-time in program history, and posted the sixth-fastest time in KU history in the 200-back with her second place finish (2:14.18). It was also a new PSAC cut.
 
Kutztown's Katherine Triggs (York, Pa./York Suburban) and Aimee Watkins (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) placed in the top three in the 1000-free, and Rachael Burke (Barnesville, Pa./Mahanoy Area) finished third in the 100-fly.
 
The Golden Bears take next weekend off, but will host California (PA) on Friday, Nov. 7 in a dual meet at the Keystone Poll beginning at 5 p.m.
