BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's tennis team traveled to Bloomsburg on Saturday to participate in a two-day tournament.
 
In the first round of singles action, sophomore Chelsea Davis (Spring City, Pa./Spring-Ford) was the only Golden Bear to grab a victory. Davis took down Taylor Presby of East Stroudsburg 6-2, 6-2. Jessica Burns, Tori Zander (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen), Zachara Harley (Wyndmoor, PA/Springfield), Alyssa Konas (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield), and Danielle Patterson (Larksville, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) all suffered first round losses.
 
In the second round of singles, Hannah Pipkin (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) secured the win 6-3, 6-3 over Ally Kristofco from Wilkes University, while Erika Diffendall (Mountville, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) took down Emilie Luttman from Shippensburg, 6-0, 6-1.
 
Kutztown teamed up to compete in doubles action. In the first round, Davis and Konas grabbed the only victory for the Golden Bears. The pair took down Amina Dickson and Taylor Presby 8-2.
 
In the second round of doubles, Pipkin and Zander were the only victors wearing Maroon and Gold. The pair defeated an unattached squad 8-2.
 
Kutztown continues action Sunday, Sept. 29 on the campus of Bloomsburg University.
