Men's Tennis Earns Final Win of Regular Season

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Kutztown University men's tennis team defeated Philadelphia University in a home match Monday at Keystone Courts 7-2.

The Golden Bears (9-6) were victorious in all three of their doubles matches over the Rams (10-11).

Rushi Amin (Orefield, PA/Lake Brantley) and Varun Desai (Mumbai, India/K.C. College) (8-5) earned their fifth consecutive win as a pair this season, while Ben Nace (Spring Grove, Pa./Delone Catholic) and Rich Lichtenwalner (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) (9-8) also amounted to five.

In a close game Matthew Maguire and Kenny Beebe (8-4) came out on top to earn their fourth win as a pair this season.

In singles play, Amin took his winning streak to six, defeating Kyle Burk 6-1, 6-1.
 
Maguire (6-2, 6-4), Lichtenwalner (6-3, 6-1), and Nace (6-2, 6-3) each grabbed the crown in singles action as well.
 
The Golden Bears return to action when they travel to Indiana (Pa.) University to face Mercyhurst University in the PSAC Semifinals Friday, April 19 for a 1 p.m. start.
