HILTON HEAD, S.C. –
Rushi Amin (Orefield, PA/Lake Brantley) and Matthew Maguire each had wins in singles play Wednesday against Goucher College at the Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Resort, as well as improving their doubles winning streak to three.
The Golden Bears won all nine matches in straight sets to defeat Goucher 9-0 and improve to 4-3 on the spring season.. The Gophers fall to 1-6.
In singles play, Amin remained undefeated taking down Goucher's Seth Hoesman 6-0, 6-2, and Maguire took the win against Goucher's David Spivey 6-4, 6-1.
Varun Desai (Mumbai, India/K.C. College),
Rich Lichtenwalner (Allentown, Pa./Parkland), and
Bilawal Suri (Kolkata, India/Calcutta International) each defeated their Goucher opponents in singles play 6-0, 6-0, while
Ben Nace (Spring Grove, Pa./Delone Catholic) took his victory 6-2, 6-0.
Amin and Maguire saw their third straight victory in doubles action during the spring break competition, taking down Goucher's Hoesman and Spivey 8-3 at No. 1.
Kutztown continued to sweep the doubles play winning 8-1 at No. 2 and 8-1 at No. 3.
The Golden Bears continue spring break play Friday, March 22 against Bethune-Cookman starting at 11:30 a.m.
