Kutztown Falls at Mansfield in Season Finale

Box Score

MANSFIELD, Pa. – Despite 28 points from Micah Fraction (Macungie, PA/Montrose Christian) and a career night from Daniel Mack (Philadelphia, PA/Paul Robeson), an undermanned Kutztown University squad fell at Mansfield 90-65 in PSAC East play.

Fraction hit 16-of-18 free throws in the game on his way to 28 points.  He became just the second player in program history to make over 200 free throws in a season (Stephen Dennis, 228, 2009-10) and finished the year with 219 made free throws.  He closes his career with 1,071 points, the 18th most in KU history.

Forced into the starting lineup for the final two games of the year, Mack set career-highs in points and rebounds in both his starts. Against the Mounties, he scored 19 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.  Mack shot 9-of-15 from the floor in the contest.  In two starts this season, he averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds per game on 17-of-32 shooting.

Kenny Battle (Philadelphia, PA/Imhotep Charter) scored 11 points in the game.

Mansfield opened the game with an 18-6 run before Kutztown pulled within 21-15 after a pair of foul shots by Fraction with 9:31 to go in the half. After a dunk by Joe Bell put the Mounties up 11, a free throw by Ryan Connolly (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) and five straight points by Battle chipped the lead to 26-21 with seven minutes to go.

The Mounties opened the second half with a 14-4 run that made 54-35 with 14:36 left in the game after a layup by Chuck Harper. MU hit 55 percent in the second half to put the game out of reach. With just six active players due to injuries, the Golden Bears played the final 5:23 with just four players after two players fouled out of the contest.

Bell finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds for Mansfield. Harper added 12 points, while Kevonte McClain pitched with 11 and Brady Burke netted 10. Kamil Parzych dished out 12 assists.
