LANCASTER, Pa. – The Kutztown University women's swimming team finished the Franklin & Marshall Invite in third place, displaying some of its best times of the season throughout the weekend-long meet.Â
The Golden Bears earned their third place ranking with 522 points. Washington & Lee led with 1024 points, followed by Franklin & Marshall in second with 765. Ramapo (521) finished fourth, while Widener (481) rounded out the top five.Â
FINALS
Senior
Natalie Carr (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) won the 100-breast with a mark of 1:08.66.

JuniorÂ
Caitlin Davies (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata)Â finished second in the 100-free to improve upon an existing Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)-qualifying and career-best time with a mark of 53.45, raising the bar from her sixth place ranking on KU's All-Time Top 10 list. Senior
Zoe Sianis (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) also reached a career-best in the event, finishing in 55.65 good for ninth place.

In the 200-fly, sophomore
Jessica Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) earned the silver with a career-best mark of 2:12.06, improving her existing PSAC-qualifying time.

In the 500-free, senior
Elizabeth Metz (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor) grabbed the bronze to finish in 5:11.65, while Bleiler rounded out the top five with a mark of 5:22.08.

Freshman
Caitlyn Falguera (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) rounded out the top 10 in the 200-back with a career-best finish in 2:21.18.

Sianis finished fourth overall in the 200-IM at 2:15.79, while Carr rounded out the top 10 with a career-best mark of 2:20.85.

The Kutztown 'A' team finished the 400-free relay in fourth with a time of 3:46.10.Â

Three Golden Bears seized top finishes during the preliminaries of day three at the Franklin & Marshall Invite Sunday afternoon, and a total of 13 advanced to the finals.

Junior
Caitlin Davies (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) qualified first in the 100-free to improve upon an existing PSAC-qualifying and career-best time with a mark of 53.50, moving up from her seventh place ranking on KU's All-Time Top 10 list to sixth. Also qualifying for finals in the event were freshman
Vicky Ceasar (Coplay, Pa./Whitehall) who swam a career-best time of 1:00.06, as well as senior
Zoe Sianis (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) (55.84) and
Rachael Burke (Barnesville, Pa./Mahanoy Area) (59.37).

Jessica Bleiler (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) qualified first in the 200-fly with a season-best time of 2:13.30.
Melanie Felkner (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) also qualified for the finals in the event, finishing seventh with a career-best time of 2:22.53.

Elizabeth Metz (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor) qualified second in the 500-free, further lowering her existing PSAC-qualifying time in the event and earning a career-best mark of 5:09.45 to move from ranking fifth to fourth on KU's All-Time Top 10 List. Also qualifying for finals in the event, Bleiler finished in 5:25.41, followed by
Kelli Sheatsley (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) at 5:38.18.

Caitlyn Falguera (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) and
Samantha Scialpi (West Pittston, Pa./Pittston) each reached career-best times at 2:21.88, and 2:23.66 to qualify for the finals. Also advancing were junior
Ellen Groeneveld (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) (2:24.36) and senior
Emily Scordato (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) (2:28.66).

Sianis topped the season-best time in the 200-IM, swimming it in 2:16.05 for a fourth place seed to go on to finals. Carr also qualified in the event with a time of 2:21.49.

The Kutztown 'A' team finished fourth in the 200-medley relay with a mark of 1:55.42.

The Golden Bears return to action Tuesday, Jan. 7, when they travel to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to compete in the Bob Mowerson Sprint Meet.
