2017-18: Finished his career with a 63-42 overall record, winning a team-high 20 matches for the second season in a row. Tied for 14th in program history in career wins. He went 11-2 in dual matches his senior season. Won his opening match at the NCAA National Championships, a 5-4 decision over the No. 3 heavyweight in Division II. He went 1-2 at nationals (3/10)...Became a three-time national qualifier with a fourth-place finish at heavyweight at regionals. He went 2-2 at the tournament with two wins by decisions (2/24)...Ranked No. 6 in Division II on a five-match winning streak entering regionals (2/16)...22-7 tech. fall on the road at ESU (2/2)...Went 2-1 at the KU Duals, including a 28-12 tech. fall over UNC Pembroke, Appleby's most points in a match in his career (1/27)...Defeated Gannon's No. 7 Nick Budd in overtime, 3-1, to win the dual meet for KU vs. Gannon (1/20)...Slid to fifth in Division II rankings, remained second in region, leading into match against Gannon (1/18)...Defeated Mercyhurst's Jacob Robb, ranked sixth in the region, by a 12-7 decision (1/13)...Won a match at the NWCA National Duals (1/6)...Ranked a career-high No. 3 in Division II and No. 2 in SR1 heading into the National Duals (1/3)...22-6 tech. fall over LIU Post (12/16)...Won three matches and placed second at 285 at the PSAC Championships (12/9)...Finished in second place at the 51st Annual East Stroudsburg Open (11/12)...Ranked fifth in Division II at 285 in preseason poll.

2016-17: Appleby won a career-high 20 matches in his redshirt-junior year. He finished fourth at regionals and earned his first career All-America honor with an eighth-place finish at nationals. He went 20-13 at heavyweight, including 11-4 in dual matches, earned three wins by technical fall and held a season-high six-match winning streak during the year. He enters his senior year with a career record of 43-34...Became an All-American with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama. He went 2-3 over the weekend, including wins over the No. 2 and No. 4 heavyweights in the country (3/11)...Went 3-2 and finished fourth overall at the Super Region I Championships to qualify for the National Championships (2/25)...Posted a 2-1 decision in a win over Shippensburg (2/9)...Recorded a 6-3 decision against Ashland and a 9-1 major decision against Lake Erie (1/28)...Went 2-1 at the KU Duals, with his only loss coming to No. 6 Garrett Gray of Tiffin (1/21)...Won both matches at the Virginia Duals, including a 20-5 technical fall (1/14)...5-2 decision over Millersville (1/10)...Ranked second at 285 in SR1 and 10th in Division II rankings (1/4)...Defeated LIU Post's James Louison 9-3 to tie KU's dual meet and give KU a team victory on tiebreakers (12/18)...Finished in fifth place at the PSAC Championships (12/10)...Picked up a victory by default due to excessive stalling in a victory over Seton Hill (12/2)...Ranked second in SR1 and sixth in Division II in preseason poll (11/1).

2015-16: Had an impressive redshirt-sophomore season, recording four major decision wins at heavyweight. One of his most impressive wins of the season was against second-ranked D.J. Sims from Pitt-Johnstown. He finished second at the Super Region 1 Championships and was a 2016 national qualifier. Appleby had 16 wins, ranking fourth on the Golden Bears...Competed in his first career NCAA National Championship, posting an 0-2 record (3/11)...Finished second at 285 at the Super Region I Championships to qualify for nationals. He posted a 3-1 record that included a 7-6 upset over then-second-ranked D.J. Sims of Pitt-Johnstown (2/27)...Posted a 4-2 decision against Millersville (2/10)...Recorded two victories at the Super Region 2 Duals (1/30)...Tallied a 10-2 major decision in a win over Gannon (1/16)...Picked up a 10-2 win by major decision over Nader Abdullatif of Minnesota State-Moorhead (1/9)...12-2 major decision over Angel Perez of Central Florida (1/8)...Ranked fourth in Super Region I for first time of career (1/2)...15-6 major decision over Seton Hill's Alex Soutiere (12/19)...7-5 win by decision vs. James Louison of LIU Post in a home dual meet (12/16)...Recorded a victory at the PSAC Championships (12/5).

2014-15: Appleby finished his redshirt-freshman season with a 7-8 record at 285 pounds. He notched two pins on the year, with a fast fall of 2:43...Won his first three bouts at the Mat Mayhem Open, including a pin in the opener (1/9)...Won 7-3 over a Princeton opponent at the Franklin and Marshall Open (1/3)...Picked up his third win on the year with a 7-2 decision against LIU Post (12/14).
