Maria Serina is in her second season as an assistant coach with the Golden Bear volleyball program in 2021.
Serina played outside hitter at Muhlenberg College in 2001 and 2002, leading the team in digs and earning a spot on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll both years. Serina's 2001 team hosted the Centennial Conference tournament and she served as team co-captain her senior year.
A 2003 graduate of Muhlenberg, Serina guided Nativity BVM High School to a 166-27 record over eight seasons as head coach from 2004-11. She coached the team to five straight district titles and a third-place state finish in 2009, earning Coach of the Year honors from the Pottsville Republican three times.
Serina serves as director of the AVA volleyball club in the Lehigh Valley and has instructed at numerous camps and clinics in the area. She is a seventh-grade team leader and founder of the Anti-Bullying Committee at Springhouse Middle School in Allentown.
