Fred Dukes IV joins the Kutztown men's basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2025-26.
Dukes returns to his alma mater after spending the last two seasons as an assistant boys' basketball coach at Pottstown High School.
Dukes, a native of Pottstown, Pa., played two seasons for the Maroon and Gold between 2013-15, appearing in 45 games. He averaged 3.6 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game, and helped Kutztown reach the PSAC semifinals in 2015. Dukes scored a career-high 18 points at West Chester on Feb. 8, 2014.
Following his playing career, Dukes served as a student assistant under head coach Bernie Driscoll during the 2015-16 season. The Golden Bears posted a 23-7 record and reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division II Championship tournament before falling to No. 5 West Liberty in the Atlantic Region final.
Dukes is a 2016 Kutztown graduate with a degree in leisure and sport studies (now sport management).
