MILLERSVILLE, Pa. -- The Kutztown University women's tennis team opened PSAC East play with a 7-0 defeat at Millersville Thursday afternoon.
The Golden Bears (4-6, 0-1 PSAC East) were unable to generate much in doubles, where the host Marauders dropped only three games in sweeping the three flights.
Gabby Gentile (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and
Kendra Yerger (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) claimed a pair of games in a 6-2 loss to Mia Gassert and Annika Rojas at No. 2.
Millersville (4-5, 1-1 PSAC East) went on to win all six singles matches in straight sets.
Despite the setback,
Isabela de Nadai (Vitoria, Brazil/St. Paul's School) (No. 1),
Maddie Gilbert (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional) (No. 2), Gentile (No. 4) and Yerger (No. 5) were able to win multiple games in their matches.
Kutztown is scheduled to host Goldey-Beacom in a non-conference match for Senior Day this Saturday, April 4, at 1 p.m.
