KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- Kutztown men's tennis couldn't quite get over the hump for its first PSAC win of the season, falling to Bloomsburg 5-2 at the Keystone Courts Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Bears (5-10, 0-4 PSAC) earned points at fifth and sixth singles, along with getting a victory from its No. 2 doubles team, but it wasn't enough to avoid a fourth straight setback.
Emmitt Robinson (Ingersoll, Ontario/Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute) recorded his team-leading seventh singles win of the season (7-5) by overcoming a first set loss to defeat Sergio Dilan 4-6, 6-4, 10-2 in a super tiebreaker.
Terrell Arejola (Quezon City, Philippines/Southville International School and Colleges) closed the match with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Landon Wall at No. 6 for his fourth win of the season.
Arejola also contributed to KU's lone doubles win, teaming with
Joaquin Perez (Pachuca, Mexico/Escuela Americana) in a 6-4 triumph over Jack Seaborn and Jaime Soria at No. 2. Unfortunately for the Maroon and Gold, Bloomsburg (5-5, 2-0 PSAC) had already locked up the doubles points with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.
Kutztown will look to break through for its first PSAC win next Tuesday, April 21, at West Chester.
